The Department of Animal and Veterinary Sciences invites applications for a fulltime position as post doc for analyzing effects on economics, the environment and animal health in livestock production. The position is for two years and to be employed at June 1st, 2024 or soon thereafter. The position is within the research section Management and Modelling
The research section Management and Modelling develops methods and tools for herd management to promote animal welfare, green transitions, and economic viability for a sustainable livestock production. Further, the section integrates, develops, and disseminates knowledge of farm animal management and relationships between actors and animals.
Researchers in the section teach BSc, MSc and PhDs on the animal and veterinary sciences programs and conduct research-based public sector consultancy for authorities on animal welfare and health.
The research section is a dynamic, multidisciplinary research group including animal scientists, veterinarians, economists, statisticians, and anthropologists.
The position
We seek:
- We seek a post doc to conduct analysis of economic, environment and animal health in livestock production.
Your profile
You possess:
- Academic qualifications at PhD level
- Research experience in either economics, environmental effects of livestock production or interactions between herd management and animal health
Research tasks
- Collection and analysis of data from livestock herds and slaughterhouses
- Analyses of correlations between economy, environment and animal health and welfare
- Contribute to publication and other relevant communication
The preferred candidates are expected to join and develop ongoing research within the research group Management and Modelling. Collaboration with farmers, farming industry, veterinarians and authorities is part of the assignment.

Deadline

Application procedure
Shortlisting is used. This means that after the deadline for applications – and with the assistance from the assessment committee chairman, and the appointment committee if necessary, – the head of department selects the candidates to be evaluated. All applicants will be notified whether or not their applications have been sent to an expert assessment committee for evaluation. The selected applicants will be informed about the composition of the committee, and each applicant is given the opportunity to comment on the part of the assessment that concerns him/her self. Once the recruitment process is completed a final letter of rejection is sent to the deselected applicants.
Letter of reference

Formalities and salary range
Technical Sciences refers to the Ministerial Order on the Appointment of Academic Staff at Danish Universities under the Danish Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation.
The application must be in English and include a curriculum vitae, degree certificate, a complete list of publications, a statement of future research plans and information about research activities, teaching portfolio and verified information on previous teaching experience (if any). Appointment shall be in accordance with the collective labour agreement between the Danish Ministry of Taxation and the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations. Salary depends on seniority as agreed between the Danish Ministry of Taxation and the Confederation of Professional Associations.
